Create an Online Graphic Adventure and Increase Your Financial Literacy
Does fighting zombies, time traveling and saving the world from aliens sound appealing to you? Learn how to make smart financial decisions while creating an online graphic novel adventure, Misadventures in Money Management, from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, or CFPB.
MiMM teaches members of the military community — including service members and their families, service providers and leaders, and future service members — how to make critical financial decisions when life happens. Depending on your situation, that may include deployment, permanent change of station and more. Service members can personalize their MiMM experience by type of service and branch. Civilians, including those in the Delayed Entry Program, Reserve Officers’ Training Corps and Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps, can also create customized graphic novels based on their financial needs.
Users dive into characters’ lives and help them accomplish their missions by solving problems through the interactive interface. The program covers key financial topics including credit and credit scores, the importance of building savings, how to avoid impulse purchases, how debt can affect military careers, and protections under the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act.
