You work hard mentally and physically in the Coast Guard, and there are resources to help you stay on your feet. Coast Guard Mutual Assistance, or CGMA, is a nonprofit organization that provides interest-free loans, grants and financial counseling to the entire Coast Guard family.

CGMA understands their clients face many different types of needs. It offers a variety of programs including adoption assistance, education assistance, financial counseling, housing programs and child care resources. Each program is tailored to meet the specific requirements of families during their times of need.

A primary focus of CGMA is to provide financial assistance to those experiencing short-term emergency financial situations that are beyond their control and jeopardize their personal well-being. Emergency assistance can include basic living expenses, home repairs and travel and funeral expenses. CGMA works hard to provide resources to help clients experiencing serious financial or personal hardships that require immediate attention.
